Getting started

Sign in, create your studio, and set up your profile.

How do I sign in?
  1. Open Interior OS — download the iPhone app or Android app if you haven't yet.
  2. Enter your phone number with country code (e.g. +91…).
  3. Tap Send OTP.
  4. Type the 6-digit code from the SMS.
  5. Tap Verify. You're in.
How do I create my studio?
  1. After signing in for the first time, you'll see Create Studio.
  2. Enter your studio's name (e.g. "Pavan Designs").
  3. Add a logo (optional — tap the camera icon to upload).
  4. Tap Create.

Your studio is ready. You're automatically the Super Admin.

How do I switch between studios?
  1. On any tab, tap your studio chip at the top-right of the header (shows your logo + name + ⇕).
  2. Pick the studio you want.

The whole app reloads with that studio's data.

How do I update my studio profile?
  1. Go to the Account tab.
  2. Tap Edit Studio Profile.
  3. Update name, logo, address, GST, contact info.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I update my own profile?
  1. Account tab → tap your name at the top.
  2. Edit your name, profile photo, phone (read-only after signup).
  3. Tap Save.
How do I sign out?
  1. Account tab → scroll to the bottom.
  2. Tap Sign Out.

Projects

Create, edit, filter and manage every project from one feed.

How do I create a project?
  1. Open the Projects tab.
  2. Tap the blue + floating button at the bottom-right.
  3. Fill in Project name (e.g. "Ramesh Villa"), Client name, Type (Residential / Commercial / Hospitality / Industrial / Other), Sub-type (e.g. 4BHK, Showroom), Site address, Location, Project value (₹), Start date and End date.
  4. Tap Add cover photo to attach a photo (optional).
  5. Tap Create Project.
How do I edit a project?
  1. Open the project from the Projects list.
  2. Tap the (three-dot) menu in the header → Edit Project.
  3. Update any fields.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I change a project's status?
  1. Open the project → Edit Project.
  2. Tap Status and pick: Active / On Hold / Completed / Archived.
  3. Tap Save.
What does the LATE badge mean?

A red LATE dot on a project means the project is Active and its End Date has already passed. Update the end date or mark the project Completed to clear it.

What does the DUE badge (orange) mean?

The project is Active and its End Date is within the next 7 days. A reminder to wrap up or extend.

How do I add team members to a project?
  1. Open the project → Members.
  2. Tap Add Member.
  3. Pick from your studio's team (must be invited first — see "How do I invite a team member?").
  4. Tap Save.
How do I add a client to a specific project?
  1. Open the project → MembersAdd Client.
  2. Pick from your invited clients, or add a new one by phone number.

The client gets read-only access to just this project's overview, designs, laminates, DPR, and tasks.

How do I delete a project?
  1. Open the project → Edit Project → scroll to bottom → Delete Project.
  2. Confirm.
Warning: this also deletes all transactions, tasks, designs, and DPRs for the project. Cannot be undone.
How do I filter the project list?
  1. Projects tab → tap the filter icon (sliders) on the right of the search bar.
  2. Pick a status (All / Active / On Hold / Completed / Archived).
  3. Optionally pick a deadline date.
  4. Tap Done.

A blue chip appears showing the active filter. Tap × on it to clear.

How do I search for a project?
  1. Projects tab → tap the Search projects… field.
  2. Type the project name or address.

Transactions — money in & out

Per-project payments, expenses, approvals and receipts.

How do I add a payment received (Payment In)?
  1. Open a project → Transactions tab.
  2. Tap the green Payment In button at the bottom.
  3. Fill in Amount (₹), Date, Party (who paid you), Category (usually "Customer"), Payment method (Cash / Bank Transfer / Cheque / UPI), optional Description, optional Receipt.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I add an expense (Payment Out)?
  1. Open the project → Transactions tab.
  2. Tap the red Payment Out button at the bottom.
  3. Fill in Amount, Date, Party, Category (Labour, Material, Transport, Equipment, Sub Contractor, Designer, Food & Travel, Fuel, Salary, Rent, Others), Payment method, Description + optional Receipt photo.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I edit a transaction?
  1. Open the project → Transactions tab.
  2. Tap the transaction.
  3. Tap the menu → Edit.
  4. Update fields → Save.
How do I delete a transaction?
  1. Open the transaction → Delete.
  2. Confirm.
How do I attach a receipt to a transaction?

While adding or editing a transaction, scroll to the Receipt section and tap Add Image. Choose Camera to snap one or Photos to pick from your library.

How do I filter transactions?
  1. In the project's Transactions tab, tap the FILTER chip.
  2. Pick filters by Type (Payment In / Out), Category, or Method.
  3. Tap Done.
  4. Tap CLEAR to reset.
What does "Pending Approval" mean on a transaction?

If you're a Site Engineer or Supervisor, expenses you submit go to the project owner for approval before they show up in totals. The owner sees a "Pending Approval" ribbon at the top of the Transactions tab and can approve or reject each one.

How do I approve a pending transaction?
  1. Open the project → Transactions tab.
  2. Tap the orange PENDING APPROVAL banner at the top, or scroll to the transaction (it shows a "PENDING" pill).
  3. Tap the transaction.
  4. Tap Approve or Reject. Add a note if rejecting.
How do I generate a transaction report (PDF) for a project?
  1. Open the project → tap the PDF icon in the header.
  2. Pick the date range.
  3. Tap Generate Report.
  4. The PDF opens — share via WhatsApp, email, or save to Files.

Studio-wide Ledger

All transactions across every project, in one place.

Where do I see all my studio's transactions in one place?
  1. Account tab → Ledger (or open from anywhere via More → Ledger).
  2. The combined IN / OUT / Balance card shows your studio totals.
How do I filter the ledger by period?
  1. In the Ledger screen, tap a period chip: All / Today / This week / This month / Last month / Custom.
  2. For Custom, tap From and To to pick dates.
How do I filter the ledger by project, party, or category?
  1. Tap Filters below the totals card.
  2. Pick projects (multi-select), party, transaction type, category, payment method.
  3. Tap Done.
  4. The active count shows on the Filters button.
How do I generate a studio-wide PDF report?
  1. In the Ledger screen, set your filters and period.
  2. Tap Generate report at the bottom.
  3. PDF opens — share or save.

Parties — clients, vendors, contractors

Manage the people you do business with and their balances.

How do I add a party?
  1. Account tab → Parties, OR project → Parties tab → +.
  2. Fill in: Name, Phone, Type (Customer / Vendor / Contractor / Designer / Other), Address, GST (optional).
  3. Tap Save.
How do I add a party from my phone contacts?
  1. On the Add Party screen, tap Pick from contacts.
  2. Allow contact access (one-time, processed locally on your phone).
  3. Pick the contact — name and phone fill in automatically.
How do I call or WhatsApp a party?
  1. Open the party → tap the green Call or green WhatsApp button.
  2. Or, in the project's Parties tab, tap the small phone/WhatsApp icon next to the party.
How do I see how much I owe a party (or they owe me)?

Open the party from the Parties list — the running balance shows at the top with all linked transactions below.

Tasks

Per-project to-dos assignable to your team.

How do I create a task in a project?
  1. Open the project → Tasks tab.
  2. Tap + Add Task.
  3. Fill in: Title, Description, Category, Assignee (pick a team member), Due date.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I mark a task complete?
  1. Open the project → Tasks tab.
  2. Tap the circle on the left of the task to mark it done.
How do I edit or delete a task?
  1. Tap the task to open it.
  2. Tap Edit to update fields, or Delete.

Material Library & Requests

Catalog materials, raise site requests and track approvals.

What's the Material Library for?

A studio-wide catalog of materials you commonly use (e.g. "MDF 18mm — ₹85/sqft"). Once added, you can pick them in transactions, designs, and material requests without retyping.

How do I add a material to the library?
  1. Account tab → Material Library+ Add.
  2. Fill in: Name, Category, Unit (sqft, kg, piece…), Cost per unit.
  3. Tap Save.
How do I edit a material?
  1. Material Library → tap the material → Edit.
  2. Update fields → Save.
How does a site engineer raise a material request?
  1. Open the project → Material Requests tab → +.
  2. Pick the Material (from your library or "Other" for free-text).
  3. Enter Quantity + Unit.
  4. Add Notes + optional Photo of where it's needed.
  5. Tap Send Request.

The request goes to the project owner / approvers.

How do I approve a material request (as owner)?
  1. Open the project → Material Requests tab.
  2. Pending requests show with an orange badge.
  3. Tap a request → review → tap Approve or Reject (add reason if rejecting).
How do I mark a material request as delivered?
  1. Open the approved material request.
  2. Tap Mark Delivered.
  3. Optionally attach a delivery photo.

Designs & Laminates

Drawings, mood-boards, renders and laminate selections.

How do I upload a design?
  1. Open the project → Designs tab → + Add Design.
  2. Pick a file (image or PDF) from your photo library.
  3. Add a Title + optional Description.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I mark a design as approved?
  1. Open the design → tap Mark Approved.
  2. The design shows a green check next to it. Clients see this on their view.
How do I delete a design?

Open the design → Delete. Confirm.

How do I add a laminate selection?
  1. Open the project → Laminates tab → + Add Laminate.
  2. Fill in: Brand, Code, Finish, Application (e.g. "Master bedroom wardrobe").
  3. Add a swatch photo.
  4. Tap Save.
How do I generate a laminate approval PDF?
  1. Open the project's Laminates tab.
  2. Tap the PDF icon in the header.
  3. The approval sheet generates with all selected laminates — share with the client for sign-off.

Daily Progress Report (DPR) & Site updates

Daily site logs, photos, and the auto-generated client PDF.

What is DPR?

A daily site report logged by the supervisor: photos, work done, hours, materials used, weather. Auto-rolled into a clean PDF for the client.

How do I add today's DPR entry?
  1. Open the project → DPR tab.
  2. Tap + Add Entry (or pick today if it's already started).
  3. Fill in Work done today, Photos, Hours worked, Materials consumed (pick from project materials), Weather (optional).
  4. Tap Save.
How do I generate the DPR PDF for a date range?
  1. DPR tab → tap the PDF icon in the header.
  2. Pick From and To dates.
  3. Tap Generate.
  4. The PDF opens — share with the client.
How do I post a site update?
  1. Open the project → Site tab.
  2. Tap + New Update.
  3. Type your update + attach photos.
  4. Tap Post.

Visible to everyone on the project.

Attendance

Daily check-in/out per worker, with hours and wages.

How do I mark attendance for a worker on site?
  1. Open the project → Attendance tab.
  2. Find the worker → tap Check In (records time + your location).
  3. At end of day, tap Check Out on the same row.
How do I add a new worker to attendance?
  1. Attendance tab → + Add Labour.
  2. Enter Name, Role (from staff role library), Daily wage.
  3. Tap Save.
How do I see attendance for the month?
  1. Attendance tab → tap the calendar icon.
  2. Pick a month — see total days worked + total wages per worker.

CRM — Leads & Appointments

Track your sales pipeline and client meetings.

How do I add a lead?
  1. CRM tab → Leads sub-tab → tap the blue + at the bottom-right.
  2. Fill in: Name, Phone, Source (Instagram / Referral / Website / Walk-in / Other), Property type, Budget, Stage (usually "New"), Priority (Hot / Medium / Low).
  3. Tap Save.
How do I move a lead to a new stage?
  1. Open the lead.
  2. Tap Stage → pick: New / Contacted / Site Visit / Proposal / Negotiation / Won / Lost.
  3. Tap Save.
How do I mark a lead as Won (converted)?
  1. Open the lead → StageWonSave.
  2. Optionally: convert the lead into a project from the same screen.
How do I set a follow-up date?
  1. Open the lead → Follow-up date → pick a date.
  2. Save.

If the date passes without action, the lead shows a red OVERDUE ribbon on the leads list.

How do I call or WhatsApp a lead?

On any lead card, tap the small green call or green WhatsApp icon on the right.

How do I see my pipeline value?

Open CRM tab → Leads sub-tab. The KPI strip at the top shows Pipeline (₹ value of open leads), Hot (count of hot leads), Conversion %.

How do I add an appointment?
  1. CRM tab → Appointments sub-tab → + at the bottom-right.
  2. Fill in: Title (e.g. "Site visit at Ramesh's"), Date & time, Lead (link to a lead, optional), Location, Notes.
  3. Tap Save.
How do I see today's appointments?

CRM tab → Appointments sub-tab → today's count shows in the KPI strip. Scroll the list — today's appointments are at the top.

Team & Roles

Invite team members and assign granular permissions.

How do I invite a team member?
  1. Account tab → Team & Roles+ Invite.
  2. Enter their phone number and pick a role.
  3. Tap Send Invite.

They get a notification when they sign in next; they can accept or decline.

What can each role do?
  • Super Admin — Everything. Studio owner. Can manage other admins.
  • Admin — Full access except managing other admins.
  • Manager — Projects, teams, tasks. No banking / finance.
  • Accountant — Finance only — transactions, parties, ledger, reports.
  • Site Engineer — Project execution — tasks, designs, materials, DPR, attendance. Submits expenses for approval.
  • Supervisor — On-site only — DPR, attendance, task updates.
  • Viewer — Read-only across the studio.
  • Client — Read-only on assigned projects (Overview, Designs, Laminates, DPR, Tasks). Cannot see money.
How do I change a team member's role?
  1. Team & Roles → tap the member.
  2. Tap Change Role → pick the new role.
  3. Tap Save.
How do I remove a team member?
  1. Team & Roles → tap the member → Remove from studio.
  2. Confirm.
How do I add a client?

Same as adding a team member, but pick the Client role. Then assign them to specific projects via the project's Members screen.

Where do I find the calculators?

Toolkit tab in the bottom navigation.

How do I use the AC Tonnage Calculator?
  1. ToolkitAC Tonnage.
  2. Enter Room length, Room width, Room height (in feet).
  3. Pick room type (Bedroom / Living / Office) and city climate (Hot / Moderate).
  4. The tonnage shows instantly.
How do I use the Paint Calculator?
  1. ToolkitPaint.
  2. Enter total wall area (or room dimensions to compute).
  3. Pick number of coats.
  4. Result: litres of paint needed + estimated cost (if you set a price).
How do I use the Plywood Calculator?
  1. ToolkitPlywood.
  2. Enter the dimensions of all surfaces you need to cover.
  3. Pick standard sheet size (8'×4', 7'×4', etc.).
  4. Result: number of sheets + waste %.
How do I use the Tile Calculator?

How do I use the Wallpaper Calculator?

  • Spacing — gives standard furniture clearances (sofa-to-table, dining-chair pull-out, etc.).
  • Golden Ratio — enter one dimension, get the proportional pair.
  • Standard Dimensions — reference card for door, window, cabinet, kitchen counter heights.
How do I convert units?
  1. ToolkitUnit Converter.
  2. Enter a value, pick "from" unit (feet, meter, inch, cm…) and "to" unit.
  3. Result updates as you type.
How do I use the Whiteboard?
  1. Open the project → Whiteboard tab.
  2. Tap Open Whiteboard to launch the editor.

The whiteboard auto-saves as you draw. Tap Done in the top-right when finished.

Subscription & Billing

Plans, upgrades, cancellations and limits.

What plans do you offer?
  • Free — 1 member, 1 project, 100 MB. Free forever.
  • Solo — 1 member, unlimited projects, 5 GB. ₹499/mo or ₹4,999/yr.
  • Studio — 6 members, unlimited projects, 50 GB. ₹1,999/mo or ₹19,999/yr.
  • Agency — Unlimited members & projects, 200 GB. ₹4,999/mo or ₹49,999/yr.
How do I upgrade my plan?
  1. Account tab → Billing & subscription.
  2. Pick a plan and a billing period (Monthly / Annual).
  3. Tap Subscribe — confirm with Face ID / Touch ID / Google Pay.

The upgrade is instant.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple / Google, not by us:

  • iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Interior OS → Cancel.
  • Android: Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → Interior OS → Cancel.

You keep paid features until the end of your current billing period.

Do annual plans give a discount?

Yes — annual billing saves about 16% vs paying monthly.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

You'll see a paywall when you try to add a 2nd project (Free), invite a 7th member (Studio), etc. Upgrade or remove items to continue.

Privacy & data

Where your data lives, how contacts are handled, deletion.

Where are my photos stored?

In your studio's private Cloudflare R2 storage, accessible only to your team. Photos are NOT used for advertising or analytics. Read our full privacy policy for the complete details on data storage, access controls and your rights.

What does Interior OS do with my contacts?

Nothing — contacts are read only when you tap Pick from contacts, and only that one contact's name + phone are used. We never upload your full contact list.

How do I delete my studio's data?
  1. Account tab → scroll to Delete Studio.
  2. Type your studio name to confirm.
Warning: permanently deletes all projects, transactions, photos, team data. Cannot be undone.
How do I view my notifications?

Tap the bell icon at the top-right of any tab. You'll get notifications for: approval needed, approved/rejected, material request delivery, overdue payments, today's calendar reminders, lead follow-up overdue.

How do I turn off notifications?
  • iOS: Settings → Interior OS → Notifications → Off.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Interior OS → Notifications → Off.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for common issues.

The app feels slow / data isn't loading.
  1. Pull down on any list to refresh.
  2. Check your internet connection.
  3. Sign out (Account → Sign Out) and sign back in.
My OTP isn't arriving.
  1. Wait 30 seconds, then tap Resend OTP.
  2. Confirm the country code is correct.
  3. Check your phone's SMS spam folder.
  4. If still nothing, contact support (Account → Send Feedback).
A team member can't see something they should.

Check their role (Account → Team & Roles → tap the member). Different roles see different tabs and screens.

My subscription isn't activating after payment.
  1. Force-close and reopen the app.
  2. Account → Billing & subscription → Restore Purchases.
  3. If it still doesn't show, contact support.
How do I send feedback or report a bug?
  1. Account tab → Send Feedback.
  2. Pick Bug, Feature request, or General.
  3. Type your message + add a screenshot if helpful.
  4. Tap Send.
